As a complete package, the Go City Chevy is hard to fault. It has all the comforts of a crossover SUV, with plenty of room for people and stuff, a comfortable ride, and a suite of standard and available technologies that help keep you connected and safe on your journey.
The front-wheel drive LT model we tested is powered by an 85 kWh battery pack that Chevy says can deliver up to 319 miles on a charge. That’s good for a subcompact SUV, and it’s far better than the range offered by the most affordable EVs currently on sale.
Chevrolet Equinox EV 2025: Specs, Pricing & Launch Details
GM’s EV platform is modular, so the Equinox EV can be ordered in front- or all-wheel drive and with different outputs of its electric motor. The LT front-drive model we drove produces 220 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque, which was enough to easily hustle us around our figure-eight course in a hurry.
Chevrolet offers an excellent warranty with its EVs, and the Equinox EV is no exception. It comes with a seven-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty that includes 100,000 miles of roadside assistance, plus the first maintenance visit at no cost.
The LT offers plenty of equipment for the money, including 19-inch wheels, a 12.7-inch driver information center, and a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. It also features a standard DC fast-charge port capable of up to 150 kW, so you can add about 70 miles of range in 10 minutes.
